NO ABUSE POLICY

Purpose
The purpose of this policy is to ensure a safe, respectful, and professional environment for all clients, staff, and visitors of all SNOOTS locations. This policy outlines acceptable and unacceptable behaviours and provides clear guidelines for interactions with clinical staff.
Scope
This policy applies to all clients, visitors, and any other individuals interacting with the staff of all current and future SNOOTS locations.
Policy Statement
SNOOTS is committed to providing a safe and respectful environment for our staff and clients. Abusive behaviour towards our staff will not be tolerated under any circumstances.
Definitions
Abusive Behaviour: Includes but is not limited to verbal abuse, physical threats, harassment, intimidation, and any form of discriminatory behaviour.
Verbal Abuse: Any language that is offensive, derogatory, or intended to demean or insult.
Physical Threats: Any act or threat of physical harm towards staff, clients, or property.
Harassment: Repeated, unwanted behaviour that causes distress or discomfort.
Discriminatory Behaviour: Any behaviour that discriminates against individuals based on race, gender, age, religion, sexual orientation, or any other protected characteristic.
Prohibited Conduct
The following behaviours are strictly prohibited:
1. Verbal Abuse
- Use of foul, abusive, or threatening language.
- Yelling, shouting, or speaking in a manner intended to intimidate or harass.
2. Physical Threats
- Any physical contact intended to harm or intimidate.
- Threatening gestures or actions.
3. Harassment
- Repeated, unwelcome contact or communication.
- Stalking or following staff members.
4. Discriminatory Behaviour
- Making derogatory remarks based on race, gender, age, religion, sexual orientation, or any other protected characteristic.
5. Other Unacceptable Behaviours
- Refusal to comply with clinic policies and procedures.
- Disrupting the operations of the clinic.
- Damaging clinic property or equipment.
Enforcement
Any client or visitor found to be in violation of this policy will face the following action:
Termination of Services
- Immediate removal from the premises if the behaviour poses a threat to the safety of staff or clients.
- Termination of the client's relationship with SNOOTS, absolutely no refunds, and possible legal action.
- SNOOTS also retains the right to claim the full annual membership balance upon termination of the relationship.
Reporting
Staff members who experience or witness abusive behaviour are encouraged to report the incident immediately to the clinic manager or supervisor. All reports will be taken seriously and investigated promptly.
Acknowledgment
By engaging with SNOOTS, clients and visitors acknowledge and agree to abide by this No Abuse Policy. Failure to adhere to this policy may result in termination of services and removal from the premises.

Approval
