Snoots

Terms & Conditions

1. Who we are

These terms and conditions (“Terms”) govern your membership of Snoots.

Two separate entities are involved in providing you with Snoots:

Snoots Inc. (“Snoots,” “we,” “us”), a corporation located at 852 Route 3, Unit 133, The Shops at the Promenade, Clifton, NJ 07012. Snoots Inc. operates the membership program, handles billing, scheduling, facilities, technology, and all non-clinical services. Your membership agreement is with Snoots Inc.

Snoots New Jersey P.C. (the “Practice”), an independent New Jersey professional corporation that employs or engages the licensed veterinarians and veterinary staff who provide all veterinary medical care. All clinical services are provided exclusively by the Practice.

Snoots Inc. does not practice veterinary medicine, does not employ veterinarians, and does not direct, control, or interfere with the professional judgment of any veterinarian. All clinical decisions are made solely by the Practice’s licensed veterinarians.

By becoming a member, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not become a member.

We reserve the right to modify these Terms. Changes are effective upon posting to our website, and we will notify members of material changes. Continued membership after notice constitutes acceptance.

2. Eligibility

Snoots accepts dogs and cats (“pet” or “pets”) into its membership plan.

By joining, you certify that your pet is not being used for breeding, has not been bred for sale, and is not part of any breeding program, intentional or otherwise. Our membership is designed for companion animals only. If we determine that a member has misrepresented their pet’s status and is involved in breeding, we reserve the right to cancel their membership immediately, with no further care provided, and to apply a $250 charge for the resulting administrative burden.

Snoots is here to support pet parents, not breeders.

3. Membership

Members pay a monthly fee of $55 per pet for access to the services described in these Terms.

Membership includes unlimited access to only those services explicitly listed as included in our online published materials, including routine procedures and diagnostic tests, subject to these Terms. Services not specifically listed as included are not included and may incur additional charges, payable to the Practice or to Snoots Inc. as applicable.

While imaging (such as x-rays and abdominal ultrasounds) may be included when clinically necessary, this applies only to primary diagnostics within the scope of primary care. Imaging required as part of post-operative treatment, follow-up investigations, or secondary care is not covered and will incur additional charges.

Elective procedures and treatments that are not medically necessary are not included.

The Practice’s veterinarians will determine, based on their professional judgment, which procedures are necessary for your pet’s health. Elective procedures will be communicated to you, with separate charges, before they are performed.

Membership is non-transferable: it cannot be moved to another pet, person, or household.

We reserve the right to refuse membership at our discretion.

4. Term and automatic renewal

Please read this section. It describes a recurring charge.

The initial membership term is 12 months. Unless you cancel, your membership automatically continues on a rolling monthly basis after the initial term, and your payment method will be charged $55 per pet each month on your billing date.

By providing your payment method, you authorize Snoots Inc. to charge it on a recurring basis until you cancel.

You may cancel at any time after the initial 12-month term with no fee, effective at the end of your current billing period, by emailing boops@joinsnoots.com or calling 973-330-3566. Cancellation during the initial term is subject to Section 10.

Annual ($660) and two-year ($1,120) payment plans are available. Annual plans renew automatically at the end of each annual period unless cancelled; we will send a reminder before renewal.

5. Appointments

Members must book appointments in advance.

Members must give at least 24 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule. Without it, Snoots reserves the right to charge a $65 appointment fee.

Members must arrive on time. We allow a 10-minute grace period. Arriving more than 10 minutes late may also incur a $65 appointment fee. Timeliness is part of how we keep membership affordable for everyone.

A missed vaccination restart fee of $75 applies if a member fails to attend the second appointment in a vaccine course, in addition to the $65 missed appointment fee. The restart fee must be collected before rebooking or administering the next dose.

6. Clinical decisions

Only the Practice’s licensed veterinarians are authorized to make clinical decisions regarding procedures or diagnostic tests for a member’s pet.

Membership does not entitle members to demand specific procedures or tests. Those decisions lie solely with the Practice’s veterinarians based on their professional judgment. Snoots Inc. has no role in, and no authority over, any clinical decision.

7. Not insurance

Snoots membership is not an insurance policy, a pet health insurance product, or a service contract, and shall not be construed as such. Membership grants access to services according to these Terms, nothing more.

8. Payments

The monthly fee of $55 per pet is due on the first day of service and monthly thereafter on the same day.

If a payment fails, we will notify you and request an alternative payment method within 5 days, after which membership may be suspended or terminated at our discretion.

Additional fees described in these Terms are charged automatically to the payment method on file.

Fees are non-refundable except where Snoots Inc. is in breach of these Terms or a refund is required by law.

We reserve the right to modify pricing. Members will be notified of changes and may terminate their membership if they do not agree.

9. Exceptional payment circumstances

The membership model spreads the cost of care across the year. In rare instances, the value of services required early in a member’s term may significantly exceed what the member has paid in. This includes high-cost diagnostics, multiple consultations, or urgent treatments delivered in a short period.

In such cases, Snoots reserves the right to request full or partial payment for those services upfront. Members will be informed before treatment is carried out and given the option to proceed on a pay-as-you-go basis or defer treatment until their membership balance better aligns with the cost of care. This protects our ability to provide sustainable care to all members.

Neutering requested within the first 6 months requires a 6-month deposit, applied to the final 6 months of the 12-month membership.

Diagnostics conducted within the first 3 months also require a 6-month deposit.

10. Cancellations

General policy. Memberships may be cancelled within the initial 12-month term only if the member pays the remainder of the 12 monthly payments, minus a 25% reduction for unused services. If treatment already received equals or exceeds 12 months of membership payments, the reduction does not apply.

48-hour risk-free trial. New members may cancel without penalty within 48 hours following their first appointment, by written notice. The trial is void if additional appointments are booked and attended, or if diagnostics, imaging, laboratory work, or other non-routine procedures are performed at any visit.

Post-trial. After the trial, the general policy applies.

Rejoining after trial cancellation. Members who cancel during the trial will generally not be permitted to rejoin, for the same pet or others under the same ownership. Exceptions case by case.

Breakdown of trust. We reserve the right to cancel a membership where, in our reasonable opinion, a breakdown of trust has occurred such that we can no longer provide care to our standards, including repeated complaints or abusive or aggressive behavior toward staff. In such cases we may offer a referral to another provider. Trial and cancellation terms still apply.

Exceptional circumstances. We may allow cancellation outside these terms where we determine it appropriate, including genuine hardship, pet rehoming, or a pet’s death.

Early cancellation and rejoining. Members who cancel before completing the initial 12-month term will not be permitted to rejoin any Snoots location, except in the event of a pet’s death or at our sole discretion.

Annual and two-year plans. Fees paid annually or two-yearly are not eligible for refunds, partial refunds, or prorated credits on early cancellation.

11. Out of hours

Snoots does not provide veterinary services outside regular operating hours. For emergencies outside our hours, members should go to our out-of-hours partner, VEG (Veterinary Emergency Group), located on Route 3 in Clifton, NJ, or their nearest 24-hour emergency veterinary hospital.

Snoots Inc. and the Practice are not responsible for fees or charges incurred at VEG or any other provider.

12. Medical records and data

Members have full ownership of their pets’ medical records and may request a copy at any time.

The Practice and Snoots Inc. retain the right to keep copies of all records and the data within them, with the right to use, reproduce, display, and create derivative works from these records, subject to applicable privacy laws.

Use in AI systems. We use records and data, in de-identified form where practicable, to develop, train, and improve software and artificial intelligence tools that support clinical documentation, care quality, and operations, including AI-assisted note-taking used during consultations. These tools assist our team; they do not replace veterinary judgment.

Our collection and use of your personal information is described in our Privacy Policy, available on our website, which forms part of these Terms.

13. Recording of consultations

To support clinical care, staff training, quality assurance, and the development of our clinical tools, we record veterinary consultations, in-clinic and by video.

Recordings are used to:

  • Review and improve the quality of care we provide
  • Support training and supervision of our clinical team
  • Ensure transparency and accurate record-keeping
  • Develop, train, and improve software and AI tools, including AI-assisted clinical documentation

Recordings are stored securely, accessed only by authorized personnel, and retained only as long as necessary for these purposes.

By attending a consultation, in person or by video, you consent to recording and use for these purposes. If you have concerns, contact us in advance at boops@joinsnoots.com to discuss options.

14. Referrals

If the Practice determines it cannot provide adequate care for a member’s pet, it will refer the member to another veterinary provider it believes capable of providing that care. Members are responsible for fees charged by referred providers.

15. Liability

The Practice and its veterinarians will use best efforts to provide high-quality care, but do not guarantee the outcome of any procedure or treatment.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the liability of Snoots Inc. and the Practice for any claim arising from membership or the provision of services, whether in contract, tort (including negligence), or otherwise, is limited to the membership fees paid by the member in the 12 months preceding the claim.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, neither Snoots Inc. nor the Practice is liable for indirect, consequential, or special damages.

Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes liability for gross negligence, willful misconduct, fraud, or any liability that cannot be limited or excluded under applicable law.

16. Dispute resolution and arbitration

Talk to us first. If you have a dispute, contact boops@joinsnoots.com. Most issues get resolved this way, and we’d rather fix the problem than argue about it. We ask for 30 days to resolve informally before either party starts formal proceedings.

Arbitration. Any dispute not resolved informally shall be resolved by binding individual arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association under its Consumer Arbitration Rules, held in Passaic County, New Jersey or conducted remotely at your election. Judgment on the award may be entered in any court of competent jurisdiction.

Class action waiver. Disputes will be arbitrated on an individual basis only. Neither party may participate in a class action, class arbitration, or representative proceeding.

Small claims and opt-out. Either party may bring an individual claim in small claims court instead. You may opt out of this arbitration provision entirely by emailing boops@joinsnoots.com within 30 days of first accepting these Terms, stating your name and that you opt out of arbitration.

17. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey, without regard to conflict of law provisions. Subject to Section 16, the state and federal courts located in New Jersey have exclusive jurisdiction.

18. General

Entire agreement. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Snoots Inc. regarding membership.

Severability. If any provision is found unenforceable, the remainder continues in full effect.

No waiver. Failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it.

Assignment. You may not assign your membership. We may assign these Terms in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.

Notices. We may provide notices by email to the address on your account.
